Garth Brooks is back at the top of the U.S. album charts with a six Cd box set.

The country star has scored his ninth number one on the Billboard 200 with Blame It All on My Roots: Five Decades of Influences, which debuted at number three last week (04Dec13).

The set has now sold over 300,000 copies in the U.S. since its release on Thanksgiving Day last month (Nov13).

Brooks is now tied for nine number one albums with the Rolling Stones and Barbra Streisand - only Elvis Presley and Bruce Springsteen (10), Jay Z (13) and the Beatles (19) have more.

One Direction's Midnight Memories slips a spot to two on the new chart, while Kelly Clarkson's holiday compilation Wrapped In Red climbs back to three and Britney Spears returns to the countdown at four with Britney Jean - her ninth top 10 album.

On the U.S. singles chart, Eminem and Rihanna finally reach the top spot after several weeks at number two with The Monster. Rihanna now ties Michael Jackson for the third-most number ones (13) on the Hot 100. Only the Beatles and Mariah Carey have more chart-toppers.

The singer shared her excitement with followers on Twitter.com, writing, "Wow!! I cant tell yall how I'm shaking! I cant believe this!! You did this!! 13 number 1's! Where dey do dat at? Hardly! Yall epic az phuck (sic)."

Pitbull's Timber, featuring Ke$ha, jumps two spots to two on the new chart, while OneRepublic's Counting Stars rounds out the new top three.
