Hilary Duff ''doesn't even remember'' life before she had a child.

The 'Chasing the Sun' singer credits two-year-old Luca - her son with estranged husband MIKE COMRIE - for completely changing her priorities and outlook on life.

She said: ''I feel like I don't even remember who I was before I had him.

''He's taught me about patience, which I didn't have before. Being in this business since I was 12, I constantly was busy and on the go. I think having him has helped center me and calm me down and make me realise that the little things are important.''

And the 26-year-old beauty believes parenthood has made her a more confident person.

She added: ''I've gotten a lot more confidence as a woman as a whole, not just as a mother.

''In my work and in my everyday life - I think there's a confidence that comes with motherhood.''

And Hilary - who split from Mike in January after three years of marriage - even claims her son, who she dubbed a ''30lb monkey'', helps her stay in shape.

She added to website TooFab: ''I was just away from [Luca] for 10 days. After spending the weekend with him, I woke up so sore. My shoulders and arms were dying. And he never sits down. That's a good workout.''
