Hulk Hogan wants Chris Hemsworth to star in his biopic.

The 60-year-old wrestling legend - who is married to Jennifer McDaniel - originally wanted his son Nick to play him in the movie about his life, but he has now decided the 'Thor' star would make a better alternative because he has more experience in the acting industry.

Speaking to Cape Breton Post, he said: ''I think we need a serious, serious actor that knows what he's doing. You know who I thought would be good? That guy that did that action movie, 'Thor'.''

The WWE icon - who has enjoyed one of the most celebrated careers in the history of professional wrestling - admits he's already got two upcoming Hollywood writers penning the film and is confident they've mastered the first four-page outline because they are true fans of his.

He explained: ''Two kids that are writers in L.A., hot young writers, they did a four-page treatment and I'm telling you they nailed it - they nailed it like they were living in my shoes - and I gave them the green light to go ahead and write the first pass.''

Hulk was responsible for turning WWE into a mainstream entertainment brand in the 80s and his match versus Andrew the Giant at WrestleMania III was watched by 93,173 fans live.

He has also enjoyed Hollywood success starring in films such as 'Suburban Commando', 'No Holds Barred' and 'Rocky III' opposite Sylvester Stallone - with the big screen action man inducting him into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005.
