American stage hypnotist Scott Lewis has died after falling from an apartment balcony in Sydney, Australia.
Police were called to the residential block on Saturday morning (11Jan14) and found the body of Lewis lying on a balcony, a police spokeswoman said.
Reports suggest Lewis fell from an 11th floor ledge and landed on another balcony on the fourth floor.
The spokeswoman said police investigators had ruled out suspicious circumstances but were yet to confirm how he fell.
Lewis was in the Australian city to perform as part of the The illusionists 2.0 show, which opened at the Sydney Opera House on Thursday (09Jan14).
The show's co-producer Tim Lawson says in a statement, "The company is deeply saddened by the sudden loss of Dr. Lewis. The entire company has decided to continue the show in his honor, and send our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends."
Lewis' website hails him as "the longest-running family-friendly comedy hypnosis show in Las Vegas history".
He performed at the Las Vegas Riviera Hotel for nine years.
