Jaime King admits becoming a mother has been ''overwhelming.''

The 'Hart of Dixie' star welcomed her first son, James, into the world with her husband, Kyle Newman, in October, and although she is besotted with their baby boy, she has found the experience ''tough.''

She said: ''I'm not adjusted! It's tough. It's the greatest blessing I've ever had in life and also one of the most overwhelming things I've ever experienced.''

She added: ''Finding the balance between work and taking care of my child is tough. I'm from the mid-west so for me, it's all about family and it's always been about family. That's my challenge. I don't want to leave my child at all!''

Jaime credits her genetics for helping her to get her post pregnancy body back in shape.

The 34-year-old actress told People.com: ''Honestly, it's genetics and I worked every day of my pregnancy on the set of 'Hart of Dixie' filming 16 hours a day until the day I went into labour.''

The blonde beauty has also been relying on organic food delivery service, Paleta, to help boost her immune system.

She explained: ''They have a mommy version while breastfeeding. I'm obsessed with Paleta, it's my thing.''
