James Franco has confirmed reports suggesting he will make his Broadway debut opposite Bridesmaids star Chris O'Dowd in a new stage production of John Steinbeck's novel Of Mice & Men.

Franco will play savvy migrant worker George to O'Dowd's mentally challenged Lennie in the latest revamp of the Depression Era drama, which will be director by Tony Award winner Anna Shapiro.

Announcing the news, the 127 Hours star says, "I am going to do Of Mice And Men with Chris O' Dowd, directed by this amazing director, Anna Shapiro, who won a Tony for the stage version of August: Osage County. So that will be my Broadway debut."
