Country star Jason Aldean has urged fans and critics to "move on" from the headline-grabbing cheating scandal which ruined his marriage, insisting he has no regrets about romancing fellow singer Brittany Kerr.

The Big Green Tractor hitmaker tried and failed to save his union to high school sweetheart Jessica Ussery in 2012, after he was photographed kissing former American Idol contestant Kerr at a bar in Los Angeles.

He ended up filing for divorce to terminate their 12-year marriage in April, 2013, and subsequently rekindled his relationship with Kerr, making their red carpet debut as a couple at the CMT Music Awards in June (14).

In the early hours of Sunday (10Aug14), he shared his first photo of himself and his mistress-turned-girlfriend on his Instagram.com blog, alongside the caption, "A little surprise for my girl @brittanylkerr tonight. Her favorite pooch @manny_the_frenchie came to my show in Chi-Town (Chicago) tonite (sic). #loveubaby #surprise (sic)".

However, the snap prompted a slew of nasty comments from detractors and hours later, Aldean addressed the cheating controversy in a follow-up post, featuring the words, "You know my name, not my story. You've heard what I've done, not what I've been through."

Alongside that image, he wrote, "So sick of people judging me and @brittanylkerr over things they know nothing about. I have made mistakes but I am a better person because of it, and wouldn't change a thing.

"I'm happier than I have ever been, so thank u to all the people who support us. We are happy and life goes on. It's time to move on people. #aldeanarmy #oldnews #timetomoveon (sic)."
