Singer Jason Derulo has penned a track about feeling under pressure to marry his girlfriend Jordin Sparks.

The couple has been together since 2012, and Derulo reveals he feels compelled to propose because of their families' expectations.

He has now tackled the topic on his new album Talk Dirty in the aptly named track Marry Me.

Derulo tells MTV.com, "I was just trying to explain that we have forever, so what's the rush... There is a lot of pressure, and there was a lot of pressure before the song. I wrote the song because of the pressure and then I made the pressure worse because people just listen to the chorus and all they hear is 'Will you marry me?' so they're like 'Oh you're proposing' I'm like 'No.'

"In the song I'm saying when the time is right, I'm saying we have the rest of our lives. So the perfect time is on its way."
