Disgraced music mogul Jonathan King is to appear in a Bbc documentary about rock legends Genesis.

King was jailed for seven years in 2001 for molesting five boys aged between 13 and 15, and his former bosses at the Bbc were criticised following his release in 2005 for allowing him radio airtime to insist he is innocent.

Now officials at the corporation are risking public rebuke once again by airing the documentary Genesis Together and Apart, which will include an interview with King, who discovered the band.

A Bbc spokesman says King was included in the programme to reflect the "significant role" he played in the group's career.

Genesis Together and Apart is due to air in the U.K. on 4 October (14).
