Jurassic Park 3D held on to first place at the Chinese box office in its second week, earning $16.34 million and bringing its gross to nearly $50 million, the website ChinaFilmNews.com reported today (Tuesday). In Japan, Hayao Miyazaki's The Wind Rises (Tachinu Kaze) held on to its box-office lead for the eighth straight week, even beating the Japanese premiere of Man of Steel. The film -- which Miyazaki said over the weekend would be his last -- has thus far earned $60 million at the Japanese box office alone.
