Justin Bieber is reportedly concerned about information on his cell phone being leaked.

The 'Boyfriend' hitmaker had his communications device seized by police during a raid on his home in Calabasas, California on Tuesday (14.01.14) as part of an investigation into an egg-throwing incident at his neighbour's house earlier this month, and is said to be worried about what they will find.

According to gossip website TMZ, officers are looking for text messages relating to the incident that could incriminate Justin, but the teenage star is more worried about drug references in his messages - and nude pictures he has stored on the device.

Meanwhile, Los Angeles County Sheriff's lieutenant David Thompson has defended his decision to send 11 officers and 12 squad cars to the singer's property to carry out the search.

The official insisted they were necessary because of the size of the house, which boasts a ''humongous'' garage and a guest house in the grounds, and also due to the criminal records held by two of the 19-year-old star's bodyguards.

He told FoxNews.com: ''I'm being criticised for having too much, but I don't think I had enough.

''We were dealing with three locations. And we had no idea how many people were in that house. He has had so many people in there before - some tied to guns, drugs and all kinds of things.

''We had 12 detectives and there were in fact seven people at the house. To me, those odds aren't that good.''

The lieutenant confirmed security footage was seized in the raid and that Justin is still a suspect in the investigation into the egg attack, which caused a reported $20,000 worth of damage.

He said: ''When we got there, we were looking for anything that would support the crime. We were not looking for eggs. We were looking for security footage, which we did get.

''He has not been arrested, but he's not been ruled out. The neighbour identified him and he is a suspect in this case.''

During the raid, drugs - initially believed to be cocaine - were found in the possession of the singer's friend, 20-year-old Lil Za, who was charged with felony possession of a class A drug.
