Justin Timberlake has blasted his acting critics in a fiery new GQ magazine interview, insisting the opinions of the writers who savaged his Runner Runner film don't count.

The movie, in which Timberlake played an online gambler mixed up with crime lord Ben Affleck, was a critical and commercial flop when it was released earlier this year (13), but Timberlake insists he didn't take any notice of what was being said about his acting abilities and his film choices.

He says, "The movie didn't do well at the box office, so I should quit? If I was somebody else, you wouldn't have said that... Come on, man. You sound like a d**khead.

"It just shocked me because, like, you're trade magazines. None of your opinions count. And, by the way, none of you can do it (act)."

Timberlake also admits the critics often test his patience.

He adds, "I grew up with a little bit of a chip on my shoulder, so sometimes I find it funny that I've been able to acquire the patience it takes to be kind to people in our business, because sometimes I just want to f**king kill everybody."
