Kathleen Turner - Kathleen Turner Has Arthritis Fight Under Control
Actress Kathleen Turner is winning her battle against rheumatoid arthritis after undergoing regular operations over a 12-year period.
The Romancing The Stone star was diagnosed with the autoimmune condition in the early 1990s and was warned by a doctor that she would end up in a wheelchair.
Now as she turns 60, Turner insists she has the disease under control thanks to a series of operations and a determination to stay active.
She tells U.K. Tv show This Morning, "A lot of the damage has been surgically replaced or removed. There was about 12 years when I had an operation every October. That's over now. You have to keep moving, you have to keep flexible, you have to keep active."
When asked if she suffers agonising pain due to the condition, Turner replies: "No, I don't think so. I think my tolerance is quite ridiculous. It's certainly not enough to stop me."
