Pop stars Katy Perry and John Mayer appeared together for their first Tv interview as a couple on Tuesday (17Dec13) to debut the video for their new duet, Who You Love.

The singers, who have been dating on-and-off since August, 2012, paid a visit to the New York studios of U.S. breakfast show Good Morning America, and Mayer couldn't stop gushing about how great an experience it was to work with the busy Roar hitmaker.

Mayer said, "That's the thing about working with someone you love. You get to see them. I had to put a video together just to see my girlfriend."

The rocker also praised Perry's work ethic, adding, "She is a superstar for a reason."

The Tv appearance occurred just days after Mayer admitted he had had doubts about collaborating with his leading lady, because he feared it would wreck their romance.

He explained, "I had this idea that just sat around for a while and I thought, 'Maybe I'll finish it some day' and I played it for (record producer) Don Was who was producing the record with me and he said, 'Get Katy to sing on it'.

"Now, he could say that because he doesn't have to worry about all the hang ups that I'd have to worry about... She was an artist in the studio and partner out of the studio. (But) it was really professional... There was a moment where she was like, 'Let me just go through it once', and the way I work is, 'Let's get this and that and that' and she was like, 'Let me try it my way.'"
