Kelly Clarkson has blasted performers at the MTV Video Music Awards last night (25.08.13).

The 'Catch My Breath' hitmaker was left less then impressed with ''a couple'' of the stars at the annual ceremony but refused to specify who had drawn her wrath.

She wrote on her Twitter account: ''Just saw a couple performances from the VMA's last night. 2 words.... #pitchystrippers. (sic)''

When a fan said while she approved of the comment, it still ''wasn't very nice'', Kelly responded by insisting she was actually holding back.

She joked: ''@sheybug74 haha that WAS me being nice! (sic)''

Although the 'American Idol' winner didn't name the stars in question, Miley Cyrus shocked viewers with when she stripped to a flesh-coloured latex bikini before dancing with Robin Thicke as he sang his hit single 'Blurred Lines'.

Although many criticised the former 'Hannah Montana' star, Selena Gomez has defended her and insisted she loved the the performance.

She told Us Weekly: ''Amazing. I thought it was awesome. I like Robin Thicke too, so I like that they [collaborated]. I thought that was good.''
