Kelly Clarkson's friend thinks her strong personality will make her a great mother.

Martina McBride believes the 'Stronger' hitmaker, who recently confirmed she is expecting a baby girl with her husband, Brandon Blackstock, will be a natural when it comes to motherhood because she is so ''fun.''

The country star, who recently recorded a ''soulful'' duet with the American Idol winner for Martina's upcoming album, 'Everlasting,' told People.com: ''She's really fun. Kelly's outgoing and very direct and I feel like she's be a fun mom.''

She added: ''She has a really good head on her shoulders and she's a strong person. I think that will be good for her and her child as well.''

Kelly, 31, has been battling severe morning sickness throughout her pregnancy and is following a very simple diet as a result.

She shared on Twitter recently: ''Ladies if you r pregnant & sick as a dog trust me when I say the one thing u will keep down might just be 'baked potatoes' #godblesspotatoes (sic)''

She later wrote: ''We just found out we're having a girl officially! I knew it! Only a girl could cause this much drama with all this vomiting ha! (sic)''

The singer married Brandon, who has two children from his first marriage, Seth, seven, and Savannah, 11, in a low-key ceremony in Tennessee in October, and shortly afterwards she admitted she couldn't wait to get pregnant.
