Kerry Katona's fiancé was hospitalised under the Mental Health Act on Wednesday evening (30.07.14).

George Kay was reportedly sectioned at John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford for his own welfare after a female motorist called the police when she spotted the former rugby league player ''running in and out of cars'' in an agitated manner, screaming that someone was trying to kill him.

A spokesman for Thames Valley Police told The Sun newspaper: ''Thames Valley Police can confirm that officers were called to a road in Chinnor shortly after 6pm following concerns for the welfare of a man.

''A 34-year-old man was detained at the scene and taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, where he was detained under the Mental Health Act. He was later discharged.''

The Atomic Kitten singer, 33, declined to comment, but a neighbour, who asked not to be named, told the MailOnline: ''It looked like he had been taking something like cocaine or ecstasy I think. He was behaving very strangely - actually it was quite frightening.

''A woman who was driving down the road was so upset by what he was doing that she stopped and dialled 999 for the police. It all happened at about 6pm on Wednesday evening and the police were here very quickly. It took quite a few of them to restrain him.''

She added: ''Then an ambulance arrived and the policemen climbed into the back with their prisoner and off they went. It was quite an unusual spectacle.''

Kerry, who recently gave birth to her first child, Dylan-Jorge, with George and has four other children from previous marriages, gushed about her fiancé earlier this week, saying she had finally found the ''right man.''

She said: ''I know this time I'm marrying the right guy and I won't be doing it for the wrong reasons. I can't wait to be Mrs Kay.

''We've been together for two years but we feel like we've been together for ten. We've been through so much, but this time it's right.''
