Lady GaGa and Taylor Kinney held a ''commitment'' ceremony to prove how dedicated they are to each other.

The 28-year-old singer and her actor boyfriend, 33, hosted the event at Joan Tratorria, a restaurant in New York owned by the 'Marry The Night' singer's parents.

An insider told the Daily Star newspaper: ''Gaga wanted something visual, a commitment ceremony with the people who matter the most.

''They don't have time to plan a wedding, so they decided they would have a small gathering to show the people they love most how committed they are to one another.

''It was just for her family and a few close art and designer friends.

''Taylor's mum Pam was there too. She flew in with one of his brothers.''

The ceremony came shortly after 32-year-old Sophia Bush - who appeared alongside Taylor in TV drama show 'Chicago Fire' - sparked rumours they were set to officially tie the knot by calling the actor's new item of jewellery a ''personal ring''.

However, the insider explained: ''The ring is just a sign of his commitment to Gaga.

''They will get married properly next year, when they have time to plan a wedding.''
