Lady Gaga will face off against Sir Elton John and Vampire Weekend for the Outstanding Music Artist prize at the GLAAD Media Awards this spring.
Lady GaGa has been nominated for the Outstanding Music Artist prize at the GLAAD Media Awards.
The 'Applause' singer has been recognised by the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender organisation for her long-standing support of gay rights, reflected in her new album 'ARTPOP'.
There are a grand total of 130 nominees for the 25th annual GLAAD Media Awards, which celebrates outstanding representations of the LGBT community in areas including music, movies, TV and journalism - including 93 nominees in English-language categories and 37 Spanish-language nominees.
Other notable nods include new Netflix prison series 'Orange Is the New Black' for Outstanding Comedy Series, Oscar-nominated Aids drama 'Dallas Buyers Club' in the Outstanding Film - Wide Release selection, and the Michael Douglas and Matt Damon-starring 'Behind the Candelabra' for Outstanding TV Movie or Mini-Series.
Gaga is expected to pick up a prize, having already won the Outstanding Music Artist award last year for her album 'Born This Way'.
She wrote on Twitter at the time: ''I'm so proud to win 'Outstanding Artist' for Born This Way album at GLAAD Media Awards. Thank you so much to your organization.
''Lets remind the world that the zeitgeist continues to beckon for equality + change. The relevancy of freedom, the ying yang of hatred + love (sic)''.
The GLAAD Media Awards will be presented in Los Angeles and New York this spring.
