Lawson - Lawson Rocker Empathises With Ted Dwane Over Brain Surgery
Dwane had a blood clot removed from his brain in June (13), prompting the folk rockers to cancel a number of shows, but he was back on stage with the band just two weeks later to perform a headline set at Britain's Glastonbury festival.
Brown underwent a similar health scare six years ago when he was diagnosed with a brain tumour, and he subsequently named his band after the surgeon who performed the life-saving operation to remove the growth.
The rocker admits he empathised with Dwane when he heard about his issues, and was amazed to see him back on stage so soon after surgery.
He tells Britain's Daily Star newspaper, "I don't think we had quite the same thing but it's brain surgery and any surgery is traumatic, so I can imagine how he feels. It's a life-changing thing going through something like that. It changes your perspective on life and we wish him the best. It's such a stressful time for the family. To go out on stage and play so soon shows how strong a character he is."
