Leonardo Dicaprio introduced his mother to her new boyfriend.

The 'Great Gatsby' actor played matchmaker to his mum, Irmelin Indenbirken - who split from the star's father, George, when he was just a child - helping her find love by setting her up with her boyfriend of one year, a gentleman named David.

The 38-year-old star - who is rumoured to be dating Victoria's Secret model Toni Garrn - and his mother were spotted enjoying themselves with their respective dates at a Fourth of July party thrown by Madonna's manager, Guy Oseary, last week and the hunky actor was credited with bringing the pair together.

A guest who had quizzed David about his relationship with Irmelin told the New York Post newspaper: ''He said Leo and his [own] daughter, the wife of a Black Keys band member, set them up on a blind date and they've been together ever since.''

Despite the generational double date, Leonardo - who often takes his mother along with him to Hollywood events - was said to be smitten with his own date at the party, which took place in Nobu restaurant, located in Malibu, California.

The source added: ''While Leo was proud to introduce his mum to everyone, he was getting down on the dance floor canoodling with Garrn, while mom danced with her boyfriend.''
