Pop star Lily Allen has been admitted to hospital for dehydration after a severe bout of vomiting.

The Smile hitmaker's hectic promotional schedule for her third album Sheezus, which was released Friday (02May14), seems to have taken its toll on the singer.

Allen began feeling ill upon returning to the U.K. from a short stay in New York for the Met Gala on Monday (05May14), and she was so sick she had to take a trip to a hospital.

In a post on Twitter.com on Wednesday (07May14), she wrote, "This travel (is) catching up with me", alongside a picture of cold and flu remedies.

However, later that day her condition worsened as she prepared to record an interview for U.K. talk show Alan Carr: Chatty Man, and she wrote, "Prepping for chatty man feeling a little bit #Queazus and very #Sneezus green juice emergency."

Allen's health had deteriorated even further by the evening when she began vomiting, and she headed back to Twitter to update fans, writing, "I can't stop projectile vomiting, also temperature #poisoned."

The singer was eventually admitted to a hospital on Thursday (08May14) suffering from dehydration.

She posted a picture on Instagram.com showing herself lying in a hospital bed with a drip attached to her arm, alongside the caption, "#SHEEzUs in #Shospital (sic) . I'm fine though guys, just need some fluids cause I can't keep anything down."
