Man Who Sold Drugs To Tragic Electric Zoo Festival Goers Arrested
A 23-year-old New Yorker has been arrested and charged with selling the drugs that cost two revellers at last year's (13) Electric Zoo festival their lives.
Jeffrey Russ and Olivia Rotondo, both in their early 20s, died at the electronic music event, and now Patrick Morgan has been charged with narcotics distribution and narcotics conspiracy.
Morgan appeared in court on Thursday (31Jul14) and was released on bail, according to the New York Times. He faces a maximum prison sentence of 20 years.
The news comes a month before the start of this year's (14) Electric Zoo, which will return to New York City on 29 August (14).
Organisers plan to increase patrols of undercover cops and use drug-sniffing dogs in a bid to make sure last year's tragedy isn't repeated.
