Matthew MacFadyen's new West End version of classic British comedy Jeeves And Wooster is to close four months early due to casting problems.

Perfect Nonsense opened at London's Duke of York's Theatre in October (13) with Pride & Prejudice star MACfadyen playing servant Jeeves, the role made famous by Stephen Fry on U.K. Tv in the 1990s, and Episodes actor Stephen Mangan in Hugh Laurie's role as Bertie Wooster.

The pair was replaced by Mark Heap and Robert Webb, and then John Gordon Sinclair and James Lance, but producers have struggled to find further actors to fill the roles.

They have now confirmed the show is to close in September (14), four months ahead of schedule, and the production will then embark on a U.K. tour with Sinclair and Lance in the title roles.

A statement from producers reads, "Until we can find a cast to match the three brilliant Jeeves and Woosters that we have had the honour to present we believe that the play is best served by closing at the Duke of York's on a high and we look forward to hitting the road in September."
