M.i.a - MIA Flips Off NFL (Again) In Super Bowl Dispute

M.I.A flipped the bird again as she defended her controversial middle finger incident at the 2012 Super Bowl.

The 'Paper Planes' rapper - real name, Mathangi Arulpragasam - is being sued for $1.5 million in damages by the National Football League for breaching her contract after she flipped off in front of thousands of young fans during her half-time performance with Madonna last year.

However, M.I.A claims the lawsuit is an unreasonable move by the company, and has posted a video to YouTube which shows her on the phone answering questions to a journalist about the event.

She scoffed: ''The NFL thing is completely ridiculous. Now they're scapegoating me into figuring out what is the goal post of what's offensive in America.''

M.I.A thinks there were numerous cheerleaders who were more offensive than her since they were dancing in provocative positions during the performance of 'Give Me All Your Luvin'.

She said: ''Madonna got them from a local high school in Indianapolis. They were under 16. If you look at them they're wearing cheerleader outfits, hips thrusting in the air, legs wide open ... in a very sexually provocative position.

''Like, is my finger offensive? Or is an underage black girl with her legs wide open more offensive to the family audience?''
