Rocker Morrissey has parted ways with his record label, days after complaining about company bosses' refusal to fund music videos for tracks from his new album.

A message posted on fan site True-to-You.net on Saturday (09Aug14) reveals the former The Smiths star is no longer working with Capitol Records Group subsidiary Harvest Records, blaming the decision on Capitol chairman Steve Barnett.

The note reads: "Three weeks after the release of Morrissey's World Peace Is None Of Your Business, Capitol Records/Harvest have ended their relationship with Morrissey, as directed by label boss Steve Barnett.

"Morrissey is once again in search of a record label."

The Suedehead singer signed a two-album deal with Harvest Records in January (14), but last week (05Aug14), Morrissey went public with his label struggles, claiming executives had chosen not to make any promos to mark the release of his first album in four years.

He then thanked fans for creating their own videos on YouTube.com, writing, "I am indebted to three sources that have placed their own well-crafted videos on You Tube for the song World peace is none of your business (sic)... These videos fully understand the intent of the song, and I am relieved that these films exist.

"Yes, a similar document ought to have been harvested by the record label, but please understand that the pop or rock industry can be as dedicated to perpetuating public deception as the world of politics itself. God bless social media!"

Morrissey also took aim at Tv show executives for failing to invite him to appear on air to promote his new work, claiming, "I have not received any television invitations - worldwide! - to either discuss World peace is none of your business, or even to sing any songs from the album."
