U.S. Tv star Nadya Suleman has escaped a jail sentence after pleading no contest to welfare fraud.

The 39-year-old mother of 14, who is nicknamed Octomom, was accused of failing to report her true income to claim welfare benefits last year (13).

She has now pleaded no contest to a misdemeanour count of welfare fraud and been sentenced to 200 hours of community service, two years' probation and a fine, according to E! News.

Suleman, famous for giving birth to octuplets in 2009, has paid back more than $26,000 (£15,294) to authorities in California.
