Family members of late rapper Nate Dogg are attempting to block the sale of his California home in the hope of receiving more funds from his estate.

The Area Codes hitmaker died in 2011 after suffering complications from multiple strokes, but the 41 year old did not have a will at the time of his passing, and members of his family have been at odds over his estate ever since.

Last month (Mar14), an estate executor agreed to sell the hip-hop artist's residence in Pomona for $340,000 (£202,537) in order to pay off a portion of his outstanding debts, according to court documents obtained by Tmz.com.

But his six children are now attempting to stop the sale as it would reportedly leave them with less funds to divide up.

Nate Dogg, real name Nathaniel Dwayne Hale, fell behind on mortgage payments and still owed $150,000 (£89,354) on the house, and two days after his death, the residence was foreclosed.

A lawyer previously split up the rapper's assets, and left the house to Nate Dogg's children.

The decision over whether to allow the home to go on sale is now set to be made by a judge.
