U.S. newswoman Amy Robach is set to undergo four weeks of chemotherapy in her battle with cancer after doctors discovered a second tumour while performing a bilateral mastectomy last month (Nov13).

The ABC News anchor, who is married to former Melrose Place actor Andrew Shue, went under the knife in November (13) after a mammogram she took as part of a Tv piece led to a breast cancer diagnosis.

During surgery, medics learned the disease had spread to her lymph nodes, and they also found another previously undetected malignancy.

She returned to the newsdesk at breakfast show Good Morning America on Thursday (05Dec13) and revealed that she is determined to work through her treatment, which will begin later this month (Dec13).

She has the full support of her Tv news colleague Robin Roberts, who successfully battled a rare blood disorder last year (12).

Robach said, "I'm going to work through it (chemotherapy). I saw Robin do it. I know how strong you were and you give me strength."
