Rocker Nick Cave was hospitalised over the weekend (29-30Jun13) after falling off stage during a gig in Iceland.

Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds were performing a rendition of Jubilee Street at the All Tomorrow's Parties festival in Keflavik on Saturday (29Jun13) when the frontman lost his balance and tumbled into a pit below the stage.

The Australian was badly bruised, but he soldiered on for the sake of his fans and completed their set before being transported to the Landspitali National University Hospital in Reykjavik to seek treatment for his injuries.

Festival organiser Tomas Young tells the Iceland Review, "There were no fractures but he was badly bruised. He was given painkillers and told that he would recover in one to two weeks."

However, the 55 year old refused to let the pain interfere with his touring duties and on Sunday (30Jun13) the group honoured its performance slot at Britain's iconic Glastonbury festival.
