Filmmaker Orson Welles' draft script for Citizen Kane is set to hit the auction block at Sotheby's in London.

The typed script, which features the director's notes and is labelled 'Mr. Welles' working copy', is expected to fetch up to $33,000 (£20,625) when it goes up for sale on 6 March (14).

The item is part of a collection which belonged to late art collector Stanley Seeger and also features an armchair once owned by Winston Churchill and gangster Al Capone's silver-plated cocktail shaker.

Proceeds from the sale will go to the Seeger Center for Hellenic Studies at Princeton University in New Jersey.

Citizen Kane hit theatres in 1941 and went on to win an Oscar for Best Screenplay in 1942.
