Slipknot - Paul Gray's Widow Attacks Husband's Doctor And Slipknot Bandmates In Court
Tragic Slipknot star Paul Gray's widow attacked the late rocker's doctor in court on Tuesday (22Apr14), insisting he was wrong to prescribe her addict husband anti-anxiety drug Xanax.
Des Moines, Iowa medic Daniel Baldi is currently on trial for his part in Gray's death in 2010, and testifying in court on Tuesday, Brenna Gray admitted she was concerned when she learned her husband had been handed prescription drugs by his doctor.
She told the court, "I just knew it was his drug of choice, that he'd struggled with it. So I just wasn't really sure why he was on it, why he needed it along with the medication he was taking for addiction."
Baldi's lawyers maintain their client didn't prescribe the drugs that caused Gray's death.
Brenna Gray also recalled her husband's final days, telling the court that she and other family members staged an intervention in a bid to convince the bassist he needed help. Angry Gray checked into a local hotel instead; he was found dead two days later.
Brenna also attacked her late husband's bandmates in court, claiming they weren't there for her or her husband as he spiralled out of control.
She said, "One was playing golf two minutes away from our house but couldn't come. Nobody else cared, nobody was involved. They told me it was my problem."
