Paula Deen - Paula Deen Kicks Legal Team To The Curb
Paula Deen has fired her legal team in a bid to save her career after admitting under oath to using the N-word.
Paula Deen has sacked her legal team after her racial slur scandal.
According to court reports, the disgraced celebrity chef has replaced Savannah-based firm Oliver Maner with Grace Speights, a partner in Morgan, Lewis & Bockius' Labor and Employment practice, in a bid to save her career after admitting to using the N-word.
A source told People: ''She and her team decided the previous attorneys were out of their depth.''
The 66-year-old star has hired a dream team of attorneys including Patricia Glaser, one of America's top entertainment lawyers - who was responsible for the $32.5 million payout from NBC to Conan O'Brien for the remainder of his 'The Tonight Show' contract in 2010.
The chef has been dropped by major sponsors Target and Walmart, and lost her slot on the Food Network after the scandal occurred.
Paula was questioned under oath in May as part of a civil lawsuit filed last year by Lisa Jackson - a former manager of Uncle Bubba's Seafood and Oyster House, which Deen co-owns with her brother, Bubba Hiers - who says she was sexually harassed and worked in an environment rife with racial slurs and innuendo.
