Paula Deen - Paula Deen Splits From Agent After Racial Slur Scandal
Celebrity chef Paula Deen is no longer working with agent Barry Weiner after she admitted using racial slurs.
Paula Deen has cut ties with her agent.
The celebrity chef is no longer working with her agent Barry Weiner after a turbulent week during which many companies severed ties with her after she admitted using racial slurs, including the word ''n***r''.
A statement released by her representative, Elana Weiss, read: ''Paula Deen has separated from her agent. She and her family thank him for the tireless effort and dedication over the many years. Paula wishes him well in all future endeavors.''
Many of her business deals have since fallen through including her usual slot on the Food Network, who have decided not to renew their contract with her.
The 66-year-old chef had worked with Barry for more than a decade and has credited him for much of her success, including getting her show 'Paula's Home Cooking' on the Food Network in 2002.
Other deals which have fallen through include the world's largest pork producer Smithfield Foods who now refuse to use her as a celebrity endorser.
In addition, chain stores Wal-Mart and Target will not be selling products associated with her.
While it seems Ballantine Books have backed out of publishing her latest cookbook, 'Paula Deen's New Testament' - which is due for release in October - it has still made the bestselling list on Amazon.com.
