British rocker Pete Doherty was overcome with emotion and appeared to break down in tears as he shot a touching promo video for his Amy Winehouse tribute song.

The Libertines star was good friends with the Back to Black hitmaker and was left devastated by her death from alcohol poisoning at the age of 27 in 2011.

Earlier this month (Jan15), he unveiled new track Flags of the Old Regime, which was written about the pop star and will go on sale in aid of the Amy Winehouse Foundation.

Now footage has emerged of Doherty shooting an emotional video to accompany the song, which includes the lines, "You made your fortune but you're broke inside" and "I don't wanna die anymore/ Any more than I did wanna die before".

In the promo, shot by Doherty's filmmaker girlfriend Katia de Vidas, the barefoot rocker is shown sitting on a stool singing along to the track, but during the take he is seen wiping his eyes, and as the song fades to an end, he puts his head in his hands and appears to start sobbing.

Flags of the Old Regime will be available to download in March (15).
