The Avengers - Police Warn Motorists As The Avengers Descend On Johannesburg
Police issued a warning to motorists in Johannesburg, South Africa this week (beg10Feb14) after a number of roads were closed when The Avengers movie shoot came to town.
The superhero sequel, starring Robert Downey, Jr. and Chris Hemsworth, was due to begin filming in the South African city on Monday (10Feb14), but the first day of the shoot was cancelled for unspecified reasons.
Avengers: Age of Ultron was back on track on Tuesday (11Feb14), but local police were forced to issue warnings to motorists to advise them of the disruption as around five streets were blocked off for the movie crew.
Johannesburg police's Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar says, "The public is requested to exercise patience and use alternative roads in the meantime."
The crew is expected to spend two weeks filming in South Africa before moving the shoot to Italy and Britain.
