Prince George - Prince George Christened!
Prince George was christened in an intimate ceremony at the Chapel Royal at St. James' Palace on Wednesday (23.10.13).
Prince George has been christened at the Chapel Royal at St. James' Palace in London.
The three-month-old baby of Prince William and Duchess Catherine was officially blessed on Wednesday afternoon (23.10.13) in an intimate ceremony with his godparents and uncle Prince Harry in attendance.
Prince George has seven godparents, all of whom were announced earlier in the day: Zara Tindall, Oliver Baker, Emilia Jardine- Paterson, Earl Grosvenor, Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, Julia Samuel and William van Cutsem.
Zara Tindall, previously Phillips, is Prince William's cousin, the second eldest grandchild of Queen Elizabeth and former rugby star Mike Tindall's wife. The six other godparents are all friends of the royal couple.
The christening was a private event with only senior royals, four members of Duchess Catherine's family and the seven godparents and their partners in attendance.
The prince, who is third in line to the British throne, was born in London on 22 July. He is said to have been baptised by the Archbishop of Canterbury wearing a replica of the lace and satin christening gown which was made for Queen Victoria's eldest daughter, Victoria, in 1841.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge chose a number of hymns, lessons and anthems for the ceremony.
The hymns included 'Breathe on Me', 'Breath of God' and 'Be Though My Vision'.
Prince William's brother Prince Harry and Duchess Catherine's sister Pippa Middleton read the lessons and the anthems were sung by the Choir of Her Majesty's Chapel Royal.
Following the ceremony the duchess carried Prince George out of the chapel and guests then made their way to Clarence House for a tea party hosted by George's grandfather, Prince Charles.
