Production on Al Pacino's biopic of disgraced U.S. college football legend Joe Paterno is reportedly on hold due to budgetary issues.

The Scarface star was cast as the once-beloved Penn State coach in director Brian De Palma's Tv movie Happy Valley in 2012.

Paterno was the head coach of the Nittany Lions for 45 years, but he was fired for allegedly failing to take action against assistant Jerry Sandusky, who was convicted of 45 counts of sexual abuse against young boys in 2012.

Paterno died of lung cancer in 2012.
