Fans of Spanish guitar master Paco De Lucia were given the chance to pay their final respects to the musician at a public memorial in Madrid on Friday (28Feb14).
The legendary flamenco artist died from a heart attack on Wednesday (26Feb14) while on vacation in Mexico, and his body was flown back to his native Spain early on Friday.
His casket subsequently went on display at Madrid's National Auditorium music centre, where mourners were invited to bid farewell.
De Lucia's remains will then be transported to his native city of Algeciras for a public wake overnight before a burial on Saturday (21Feb14), according to the Associated Press.
The 66 year old's passing sent shockwaves through the music industry, with rockers Carlos Santana, Slash, Bryan Adams, Tom Morello and Bryan May all offering up tributes to De Lucia.
