Quentin Tarantino - Quentin Tarantino Staging Live Reading Of Leaked Script
Filmmaker Quentin Tarantino is staging a live reading of his leaked script The Hateful Eight later this month (Apr14).
The Pulp Fiction writer/director decided to scrap plans to shoot the western in January (14) after an early draft of his screenplay hit the Internet without his permission.
Following the leak, the director filed a $1 million (Gbp625,000) copyright infringement lawsuit against editors at Gawker.com accusing them of having "crossed the journalistic line by promoting itself to the public as the first source to read the entire screenplay illegally".
While the script will no longer be acted out on the big screen, Tarantino has teamed up with organisers at Film Independent to cast and direct a one-night live reading on 24 April (14) at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art's Bing Theater.
President of Film Independent Josh Welsh says, "Quentin Tarantino is a key figure in the independent creative community. We are thrilled that Quentin will be holding the World Premiere Staged Reading of his script of The Hateful Eight with Film Independent at Lacma."
