Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood is set to premiere his new Indian-inspired classical piece with the Australian Chamber Orchestra next year (14).

The multi-talented musician has created a new composition titled Water, an orchestral piece which was inspired by a trip to India in 2012.

He tells music website Noise11.com, "The space in Indian classical music and the textures were a big influence on the commission. I'm so used to closely recorded sounds, it's always a jolt to realise that the 'in the room' sound of an orchestra is a different animal from a recording."

The piece will be played by the acclaimed Australian Chamber Orchestra (Aco) in various cities across the continent next autumn (14).

Earlier this year (13) while Greenwood was working with the Aco on his classical composition, he made a surprise appearance with the the orchestra for an intimate show at their Sydney concert in a loft apartment.

In addition to his work with Radiohead, Greenwood has composed original scores for the Paul Thomas Anderson films There Will Be Blood and The Master.
