Reese Witherspoon will star in fairytale spoof comedy 'Happily Ever After'.

Disney is eyeing the Oscar-winning actress to lead the cast of a new laugher, which will provide a humorous take on the fairytale genre, following a princess (Witherspoon) and prince 10 years after they've ridden off into the proverbial sunset at the end of most fairytales.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the lead characters will discover that even after finding 'the one', you must work to ''keep your relationship and your life together''.

The film's script was written by Nahnatchka Khan, who previously created TV sitcom 'Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23' and was a writer on animated comedy 'American Dad!'

Witherspoon will produce the flick with her Pacific Standard partner Bruna Papandrea, as well as John Jacobs of Smart Entertainment.

The busy actress is also set to star in drama 'Wild', which is based on Cheryl Strayed's best-selling novel about a 26-year-old woman who finds herself at a crossroads following the death of her mother and end of her marriage.

She has additionally signed on to star alongside Sofia Vergara in female road trip comedy, 'Don't Mess with Texas'.
