Sam Smith has announced dates a new tour for 2015.

The 'Stay With Me' singer is heading out on the road early next year for his 'In The Lonely Hour Tour' and will play a string of dates across the UK.

Sam will kick-off his tour in Glasgow on March 16 at The O2 Academy followed by a second night at the same venue.

The 22-year-old pop star - whose autumn tour is sold-out - then heads to Manchester for two shows, a double-header in Wolverhampton before finishing with a pair of concerts at the London O2 Academy Brixton on March 25 and March 26.

Sam's tour announcement arrives after his acclaimed performance at the recent MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles and the return of his album 'In The Lonely Hour' to the top of the UK charts.

His debut LP has so far sold over 1.9 million copies worldwide and it shifted 166,000 copies in the first week of its release in the US.

Sam recently described his music as emotionally honest in the same style as Adele and Amy Winehouse.

He said: ''With my record - and when you think about Adele, and Amy Winehouse and Ed Sheeran - we're not worried about the way we're looking, the way we're coming across in our music.

''We're just saying what's in our minds and in our hearts. Some people think when you are singing about heartbreak, or how lonely you are, or how sad, that you are admitting to weakness. But I don't see that as weakness.

''I see that as strength - to be able to face your issues and your sadness head-on. That's what I've tried to do in my music.''
