The 29-year-old actress, who moved to Paris last year to live with her French fiancé, Romain Dauriac, 32, decided to return to her hometown in the US in the final stages of her pregnancy, as she wanted her mother, Melanie Sloan, to be by her side when she welcomed daughter Rose Dorothy into the world recently.
A source said: ''She knew she would feel more comfortable in the United States.''
The insider added: ''Scarlett's thrilled to have a girl. She doesn't want to let the baby out of her arms..''
