Scarlett Johansson loves filming in countries she hasn't visited before.

The 29-year-old actress jetted off to Taipei, Taiwan, to shoot scenes for upcoming action movie 'Lucy' and she admits travelling to new places is one of the best things about being a movie star.

She told Total Film: ''I really loved filming in [Taipei]; I just loved being able to explore that city and I think in some ways just the fact we were all so tired and jet-lagged and out of our element really added to the kind of disorientation of the character.''

However, the 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' star insists her favourite place to work is still Paris - the French city where she lives with her businessman fiancé Romain Dauriac.

Scarlett said: ''Being in Paris is about being in a city where Luc Besson is most comfortable but it's an incredibly cinematic city.''

The cast and crew filmed in central Paris locations including the Rue de Rivoli and La Sorbonne, Paris' most famous university.

'Lucy' follows the story of a woman who, after mistakenly getting caught in a bad way, is forced to transform into a warrior to evade her captors.

Director Besson was the driving force behind the choice to film in the Taiwanese capital after he visited the city over two decades ago.

He said: ''I always had the desire for this film to start in another place and Asia was perfect.

''On the script, I always put Taipei because I went 20 years ago and I loved the town, the feeling, the people. And the funny thing is, we filmed in the hotel that I knew 20 years ago too.''
