The Beatles - The Beatles' Cavern Club To Be Sold Off
The venue where The Beatles launched their career is to be sold at auction next month (Oct13).
The musicians were regulars at The Cavern Club in their native Liverpool, England in the early 1960s before they were spotted there by manager Brian Epstein, and they honed their live performance skills at the venue prior to landing their big break.
The famous music venue is now set to hit the auction block after the company which owns it went into administration last month (Aug13).
Britain's The Times reports the club will be sold off along with the shopping centre which surrounds it and is expected to fetch around $1.5 million (£1 million).
The original building was demolished in the 1970s, but the venue eventually reopened after it was rebuilt using bricks saved from the site.
The Cavern Club has also hosted performances from other famous acts over the years including The Rolling Stones, The Who and Sir Elton John.
