Tom Felton thinks people expect him to act like Draco Malfoy.

The 24-year-old actor, who plays the bully in the 'Harry Potter' series, finds it amusing when fans of the wizard boy are surprised that he is nothing like his alter-ego.

Speaking to Collider.com, he said: ''A lot of people expect to meet Draco when they meet me, and they usually are pleasantly surprised when they see that I'm not a complete asshole. It's been fun to see people's reactions, over the years.''

Tom doesn't resemble the pale face, bleach blonde, teenager he played from 2001 until 2011, which makes it difficult for him to be spotted by his adoring fans, but he admits he's grateful he was cast as Draco.

He explained: ''I look very different from the guy that I played. I'm not always the easiest person to spot, which is nice. And I feel very lucky that the character that I got to play couldn't have really been further from me.''

The hunk was catapulted into the spotlight after he landed one of the key roles in the 'Harry Potter' franchise after auditioning when he was only 12 years old, and he is looking forward to what the future holds.

He said: ''They have these preconceptions of what I'm like, and then I turn that on its head. So, I'm very proud of the past, and also very excited for the future.''
