Johnny Depp's ex-partner congratulated him on his engagement to Amber Heard.

Vanessa Paradis, who split from the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star in 2012 after 14 years together and has two children, Lily-Rose, 14, and Jack, 11, with him, isn't ''bitter'' that he is moving on.

A source close to the 41-year-old French actress told Us Weekly magazine: ''Vanessa wished him happiness. No drama.''

The insider added: ''She's not bitter. She's happy.''

Johnny, 50, and Amber, 27, started dating shortly after his split from Vanessa when they met on the set of 'The Rum Diary' in 2012.

Vanessa has also found love again with French singer Benjamin Biolay, 41.

Johnny previously admitted he never felt the need to marry Vanessa.

He said: ''I never found myself needing that piece of paper. Marriage is really from soul to soul, heart to heart. You don't need somebody to say, okay you're married.''

But he later clarified that he wasn't opposed to the idea and said: ''If Vanessa wanted to get hitched, why not. But the thing is, I'd be so scared of ruining her last name. She's got such a good last name.''
