Actor Vince Vaughn has emerged as a new favourite to land a key role in the second series of hit Tv crime drama True Detective.
The Wedding Crashers funnyman is in early talks to feature as one of four leads in the show, alongside Colin Farrell and Taylor Kitsch, who have also been linked to the project, according to TvLine.com.
The latest casting speculation emerges weeks after fellow movie stars Christian Bale and Jessica Chastain distanced themselves from rumours suggesting they were considering taking over from Matthew MCConaughey and Woody Harrelson as troubled police detectives trying to solve a 17-year-old murder case in season one of the anthology series.
Vaughn has previously appeared in episodes of Tv shows like 21 Jump Street, Doogie Howser, M.D. and Sex and the City earlier on in his career.
