A teenager who was caught raiding the home of Scottish singing sensation Susan Boyle has been ordered back to court after he failed to appear at a sentencing hearing on Friday (10Dec10).
The singer was terrified when she encountered an intruder at her property in West Lothian, Scotland in January (10), revealing the incident "scared the living daylights" out of her.
A 16 year old was arrested and claimed he entered the property for a dare after he spotted the front door open. He admitted a charge of theft for stealing $13.5 (£9) from the star's home.
He was due to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court on Friday (10Dec10), but failed to show up. His lawyer claimed the teenager was unable to make it to the hearing due to problems catching a bus from his home.
Sheriff Jamie Gilchrist deferred the sentencing until next week (beg13Dec10). The youth is expected to receive a fine for the crime and the money will be donated to a charity of Boyle's choice, according to Scotland's Daily Record.
